There will be special arrangements for counting the votes of army and paramilitary forces personnel. Before counting of votes, the Election Commission will train the district level officials on how to count. This time all three wings of the army have enthusiastically participated in the voting. The votes of these service voters will be counted through bar code scanner. Bar codes were inserted in the ballot papers given to service voters.
According to the preparations currently in place, 10 tables will be set aside for counting the votes of the soldiers. The bar code scanner can count only 350 to a maximum of 400 votes in an hour. There are 4 thousand 243 service voters in the capital. Apart from these, five separate tables will be set up for counting the votes of all other employees who have voted through postal ballot.
DM Kaushal Raj Sharma said that training of employees for counting of votes will take place on May 16. The second randomization will take place on May 23. That means the duties of the employees will be fixed. In this allocation of tables just before the counting of votes, the employees will know where their duty is.
This time counting of votes will take place in 10 rooms
Counting of votes will take place in the rooms located at the Ramabai rally venue. Till now postal ballots were also counted along with EVM votes. This time the counting of service voters and postal ballots will be done in separate rooms. DM informed that counting of votes from EVM machines of nine assembly constituencies will be done in nine rooms. The votes of service voters will be counted in a room which remained vacant. With this, the counting of votes will be done faster and it will not take much time to get the results.
