Dhaka, February 13 (IANS). Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has got majority in Bangladesh elections. Now BNP has said that the party has been struggling for a long time to restore the voting rights of the people in Bangladesh.

In a post on social media platform X on behalf of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, it was written that the party has been struggling for a long time to restore the voting rights of the people in Bangladesh. We lost many leaders and workers in this struggle. Many were subjected to forced disappearances and systemic repression.

The post reads that Thursday was the much-awaited election day. The people of Bangladesh were finally able to exercise their democratic rights. With overwhelming public support, BNP won a decisive victory.

It was further written on behalf of the party that on behalf of BNP we express our deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the citizens of Bangladesh. we will work. We will build the country. Bangladesh will always be first.

BNP President Tariq Rahman is likely to take oath as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Saturday, marking the return of a male Prime Minister to Bangladesh after nearly 35 years. Tariq Rehman took over the leadership of BNP after the death of his mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, last December. Tariq is also the son of BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) President Tariq Rahman over phone and congratulated him on his party’s victory in the Bangladesh elections. Prime Minister Modi also expressed India’s support to Rahman’s efforts to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.

After the phone call, Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media platform X that I was very happy to talk to Tariq Rehman. I congratulated him on his landslide victory in the Bangladesh elections. I expressed my good wishes and support in their efforts to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Bangladesh. As two close neighbors with deep historical and cultural ties, I reiterated India’s continued commitment to the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of both countries.
