Jodhpur, January 10 (IANS). Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday attended the Maheshwari Global Convention and Expo-2026 organized at the Polytechnic College grounds in Jodhpur and addressed the public meeting. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Maheshwari community regarding this.
Union Minister Amit Shah started his address by praising Maheshwari community and remembering its glorious history. Amit Shah said that Maheshwari community has always contributed in every area of the country. Be it the Maheshwari gems spread across the country and abroad, the achievements of people who have reached high positions or serving the country by staying connected to their native society, the Maheshwari community has set an example everywhere.
Shah said that during the time of Mughals and British, Maheshwari community every time contributed for the country and independence. Maheshwari Samaj also provided full financial support to Mahatma Gandhi’s campaign in the freedom struggle. After independence, the country had to move forward on the path of development and Maheshwari community never looked back in the field of industry, trade and technology. Be it production, trading, manufacturing or technology, this society always showed progressiveness.
Shah said that the people of Marwar are spread in every corner of the world. In the field of business and trade, Maheshwari Samaj gave recognition to both the country and Rajasthan. He said that social events and gatherings like Mahakumbh work to strengthen India. When every society takes care of its poor and weak members, the whole of India becomes self-reliant and strong. Shah stressed that Maheshwari Samaj never divided the country, but served the society and the country through organization and strength.
He told that the Government of India also issued a postal stamp in honor of the contribution of Maheshwari Samaj. This society has always been committed to service, cooperation and moving forward. Business, B2B and B2C agreements will also be signed in today’s grand conference, which will benefit the production and economic sector of the country.
Referring to the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence, Shah said that it is very important to acquaint the youth with the freedom struggle and the achievements of the country. Shah stated four objectives: to introduce youth to the freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947, to instill a sense of pride among businessmen, to spread knowledge of the country’s achievements and to awaken the idea of India in the hearts of 140 crore Indians.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged for the century of independence of the country and in 2047, India will be in the best position in every field in the world.
Amit Shah said that three main things are necessary to make India self-reliant in the ‘Amrit Kaal’. First, to promote production and industry; Second, to use and produce indigenous things and third, to teach one’s own language and culture to children. He said that only indigenous goods will help in building a self-reliant India. Shah said that one should talk to children in Marwari and Hindi at home so that they remain connected to their history and culture.
He told that when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, India was the 11th economy in the world and now it has reached the fourth position in just 11 years. According to the preparations for next year, India can also reach the third position. For this, self-reliant India, indigenous production and progress in education are very important.
Shah told the youth and all people of the society to learn as many languages as they want to move ahead in the world, but teaching their mother tongue and culture in their homes and to their children should be a priority. He also said that Maheshwari community has always contributed to the country and society and this tradition will continue in the times to come.
Appreciating the service, contribution and organizational ability of Maheshwari community, Amit Shah inspired everyone to continuously move forward in their business, production and social service. He said that the contribution of Maheshwari community is not limited only to its own society, but plays an important role in the progress of entire India and the country.
