Siliguri, February 2 (IANS). BJP leader Shikha Chatterjee took a dig at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that the CM, who was in power on the basis of infiltrators, is now feeling scared. That is why she has gone to Delhi.

Mamata Banerjee held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi on Monday regarding the SIR being conducted by the Election Commission before the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal. This meeting lasted for about an hour.

After the meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, CM Mamata Banerjee told the media that she is very sad. I have been involved in Delhi politics for a very long time. I have been a minister 4 times and MP 7 times. I have never seen an Election Commissioner who is so arrogant, who is such a liar. I told him that I respect his chair because no chair is permanent for anyone. One day you will have to go. Why is Bengal being targeted? Elections are a festival in a democracy, but you removed the names of 58 lakh people and did not give them a chance to defend themselves.

On CM Mamata Banerjee’s opposition to the issue of SIR, BJP leader Shikha Chatterjee said that there should be an SIR. Mamta Banerjee had recently taken out a rally that we will not allow SIR to happen, today she has gone to Delhi.

The BJP leader said that one thing is clear from Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Delhi that she is nervous and scared, she knows that the voter list is being corrected through SIR and all the names of infiltrators, Rohingyas and dead voters will be removed.

He said that Mamata Banerjee should know that SIR is not happening for the first time, this process has been happening for years and it will continue. Mamta Banerjee was saying that she will not allow SIR to happen in the state, but SIR is happening. She wants to keep the names of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the list, that is why she has gone to Delhi. SIR will happen and Mamata Banerjee cannot stop it.
