Lucknow, July 7 (IANS). Manoj Kumar Paras, MLA from Nagina assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh, raised questions while reacting on many issues including the Ram temple offering controversy. Raising questions on the functioning of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, he said that the incident of theft in the temple has hurt the religious faith of crores of people and responsibility for this should be fixed.
He said that the biggest issue at this time is related to the faith of crores of people. The incident of theft in the temple of Lord Shri Ram is very serious and it raises the question that why did the people in charge of the system fail to fulfill their responsibilities? When Shri Ram Temple was built, people from many sections of the society played an important role in it, but at the time of formation of the Trust, they were not given proper representation. He himself comes from the Scheduled Caste and many people from Dalit and backward classes had actively contributed to the Ram Mandir movement, but no person from these classes was given a place in the Trust.
He said that when people are appointed to look after any institution or property, the entire responsibility rests with them. In such a situation, if such an incident has happened in the temple, then the accountability also falls on those people who were made members of the trust and who were entrusted with the responsibility of managing the temple.
Defending the stand of Samajwadi Party, Manoj Kumar Paras said that there is no difference between the words and actions of SP. Neither former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav nor Akhilesh Yadav ever opposed the construction of Ram Temple. This entire matter was related to the decision of the court and after the decision of the Supreme Court, it was the responsibility of the government to implement it. At the same time, it was the constitutional responsibility of the then government to ensure the security of the disputed site before the decision was taken, which was followed.
Taking aim at the BJP, he said that now when issues related to offerings and donations are coming to light in the temple. Discussions are taking place on social media every day, while BJP is trying to avoid its responsibility by blaming the opposition. Raising questions regarding the SIT investigation, Paras said that in the normal process first an FIR is registered and then the investigation proceeds, but in this case the SIT was formed first and the FIR was registered later. From this it appears that the government is using law and constitutional processes as per its convenience.
Responding to the letter issued by Champat Rai, former General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Manoj Kumar Paras said that only Champat Rai can tell when he will speak. Probably he has been prevented from giving a public statement at present and after the completion of the investigation process, he will be asked to make a statement as per the decided strategy.
Manoj Kumar Paras gave a restrained reaction to the remarks made by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel regarding love marriage. He said that he does not want to say anything more on this subject. The age of majority is fixed in the Constitution and every person should behave in accordance with the same constitutional system. He does not consider it appropriate to make any additional comments on this issue.
