Hyderabad, July 7 (IANS). Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced that the Telangana government will constitute an official committee to give recommendations to strengthen ‘digital governance’ in the state.
Revanth Reddy directed officials to take steps towards implementing ‘Digital Governance’ to ensure greater transparency in administration.
During the meeting with higher officials he sought details of implementation of ‘Digital Governance’ and directed the officials to make plans and draft necessary legislation for ‘Digital Governance’.
Instructions were issued to form a committee consisting of officers from various departments to monitor this work. The committee will be asked to submit the report in 100 days.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Chief Minister stressed on taking forward the administrative system through complete digitalization. The main objective of the state government is to provide better services to the public and deliver the benefits of welfare schemes directly to the beneficiaries through ‘Digital Governance’.
To streamline prompt payment of salaries of contract and outsourcing employees, he directed officials to take action against agencies that are not functioning as per the government’s goals.
The Chief Minister reviewed the problems of contract and outsourcing employees. During the review, he directed that strict action should be taken against agencies that do not pay salaries to these employees on time even after the release of funds by the government.
Revanth Reddy also took stock of the digitization of data related to contractual and outsourcing employees as well as regular government employees and ordered officials to digitize the entire data and ensure that salaries are paid on the 1st of each month.
