Kolkata, April 27 (IANS). Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday offered prayers at Gangasagar in South 24 Parganas of West Bengal. He gave this information by sharing pictures on social media.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and said that he had the privilege of worshiping at the holy place Gangasagar, the sacred land where Mother Ganga meets Sagar. Worshiped Maharishi Kapil at Kapil Muni Ashram located in Gangasagar and wished for the welfare of the countrymen. The life philosophy of Rishivar Kapil, a symbol of knowledge, sacrifice and penance, is inspiring for every countryman.
He said that today prayers and offerings were offered with reverence in Gangasagar to our immortal soldiers who made supreme sacrifice for the country. Every Indian is proud of the bravery of the brave security forces who sacrificed their lives amidst unimaginable challenges and every obstacle, considering national defense as the supreme goal.
He said all the pilgrimages again and again, Gangasagar once. Got the privilege of worshiping at Gangasagar, the confluence of Ganga and Sagar. The mind was filled with immense peace and spiritual joy on this holy pilgrimage of the life-giving Mother Ganga. May Mother Ganga shower her blessings on the countrymen.
Earlier, while addressing a public meeting, Amit Shah said, “Don’t worry about Didi’s goons. The Election Commission has deployed CAPFs everywhere. Today I am saying this clearly that after the elections, BJP government will be formed. Still, the CAPFs will remain here for the next 60 days.”
He assured voters that the central force deployed by the Election Commission will protect them even after the results are declared on May 4.
The call by the Union Home Minister to voters to participate in the elections coincided with the conclusion of the campaign for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections.
Earlier, before the voting on 142 assembly seats on April 29, the Election Commission on Monday decided to further strengthen the surveillance system by bringing the roads leading to important or highly sensitive polling stations under CCTV surveillance.
