New Delhi, April 13 (IANS). In the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ organized at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Women’s Reservation Bill is an important and historic decision of the 21st century. This decision is dedicated to women power. The Parliament of our country is very close to creating a new history. A history that will realize the resolutions of the past and fulfill the dreams of the future.
The event was attended by Union Minister Annapurna Devi along with many prominent women from sports, arts, education, medicine and other fields. Speaking to IANS, Union Minister Annapurna Devi said that this program is an important step towards the empowerment of women.
Expressing her gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, Annapurna Devi said that I express my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi that he addressed all the women of the country in the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ today. Women from every sector of the society including sports, art, education, medicine were present in this program.
He said that half of our population, which has been struggling for a long time, should get a new place. To ensure active role of women in 2029, we appeal to everyone to contribute.
National Backward Classes Commission Chairperson Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said on the Women’s Reservation Bill that ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ was introduced in the new Parliament House in 2023. Under this, seats will be reserved for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Women have always been venerable and their role has been important in every field. The special session convened from April 16 will be a day of celebration for women. This will further increase women’s participation.
National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar described the bill as a historic step by Prime Minister Modi and said that today women across the country are very happy. This is a historic step taken by the Prime Minister and I express my heartfelt gratitude to him.
He said that for the effective implementation of this bill, we all should unite and cooperate. When the women of the family move forward, they take the entire family, society and nation forward. We must all work together to make this bill a reality.
Kathak dancer Shobhana Narayan said that all our women are talented and capable. They will get opportunities, which will give them mental strength, confidence and strength to move forward. They will be able to contribute to the best of their abilities and this will benefit not only small communities but the entire society and India as a whole.
Astrologer Jai Madan said that I believe that even in our national anthem we mention Maa Durga, Maa Saraswati and Maa Lakshmi. Therefore there should be equality in our Parliament also. I think starting with 33 percent reservation is a positive and right step.
