New Delhi, July 21 (IANS). The first meeting of the parliamentary party of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will be held on Tuesday under the new name ‘Mangal Milan’ amid the monsoon session of Parliament. The ruling coalition is organizing this meeting with the aim of further strengthening mutual coordination during the Parliament session.

This meeting will be held at 9:30 am in the GMC Balayogi Auditorium located in the Parliament Library Building. It will include MPs from all NDA allies in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the meeting.

Traditionally the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting has been held every Tuesday during each session of Parliament. However, this time it has been named ‘Mangal Milan’. The alliance says that through this new name an attempt has been made to give cultural and organizational identity to the regular parliamentary meetings.

This meeting is taking place at a time when the proceedings are being affected due to the uproar by the opposition in both the houses since the beginning of the monsoon session of Parliament.

During the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Monday, the opposition protested strongly demanding discussion on many issues including NEET controversy, Ram Temple offering issue, CJP’s demonstration at Jantar Mantar and E-20 petrol.

As soon as the Lok Sabha proceedings began, the opposition MPs started raising slogans. Jagdambika Pal, who was present on the Speaker’s bench, appealed to maintain the dignity of the House and remain calm, but the opposition’s uproar continued.

Earlier, Dilip Saikia, who was present on the Speaker’s bench, also tried to restore order in the House. He urged the MPs to sit on their seats and allow Zero Hour to be held on important issues of the country.

He said, “This behavior is not good for democracy… Don’t you want the House to function?”

Despite this, the opposition MPs kept raising slogans and continued the protest by reaching the well of the House. Due to continuous uproar, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 1 pm.
