Vadodara, March 21 (IANS). Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi on Saturday inaugurated the new command and control center of Vadodara City Police set up in the police building.
Developed through the Network for Technology Enabled Rapid Assurance and Monitoring (NETRAM) project under the Smart Policing initiative of Gujarat Police, the center is designed with the aim of strengthening city level surveillance and enhancing operational efficiency using advanced technology.
Sanghvi was welcomed at the police building by Director General of Police (DGP) KLN Rao and City Police Commissioner Narasimha Kumar.
On the arrival of the Deputy Chief Minister, a contingent of city police gave him a guard of honour.
At the opening ceremony a plaque was unveiled to commemorate the official opening of the centre.
Giving a brief, the City Police Commissioner said that this facility is helpful in real-time crime detection, coordination during major festivals and city events and effective management of police resources.
He said that through this centre, we can continuously monitor the security and traffic conditions of Vadodara, which will enable quick response to incidents and improve public safety.
After the ceremony, Sanghvi visited the center and observed the surveillance systems including CCTV cameras covering major areas of the city.
They were given information about how this technology is helpful in both security and traffic management.
He stressed the importance of making full use of advanced technology in policing and suggested further integration of advanced systems into the city’s security activities.
This center is an important step towards modernization of policing system in Vadodara.
By combining technology and law enforcement, the facility aims to improve crime prevention, enhance traffic management and provide a central hub for monitoring and coordination.
This initiative is part of Gujarat Police’s broader vision of adopting smart solutions for urban security and operational efficiency.
