Mumbai, January 16 (IANS). Counting for BMC elections continues in Mumbai. Meanwhile, political rhetoric has intensified regarding exit polls and the recent press conference of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. Shiv Sena leaders Shaina NC and Manisha Kayande reacted to this.
Shiv Sena national spokesperson Shaina NC told IANS that the public has consistently given strong support to the Mahayuti alliance. Be it Lok Sabha, Assembly or Municipal Corporation elections, the results have been consistently the same. People consider the pair of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis unmatched in terms of development. The public message is clear that those who do politics sitting at home should stay at home. Only those who work on the ground get the mandate of the people.
He also responded to the questions being raised during exit polls and voting.
Shaina NC said, “There is no issue regarding ink. When the results reach the UBT Sena in a few hours, all the excuses like Election Commission, EVMs, availability of notes or alleged misuse of ink will automatically be proved baseless. If those making such allegations had worked on the ground for the last 25 years, perhaps the results would have been in their favour.”
Along with this, he also commented on Uddhav Thackeray’s press conference during voting.
He said that in a democracy everyone should follow the instructions of the Election Commission. The Election Commission tells what is right and what is wrong, so that everyone is aware of the rules.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande, while reacting to the exit poll, said that the figures in the exit polls of different agencies may be different, but she has full confidence in her work.
“In the last three and a half years, Mumbai has witnessed unprecedented development and expansion of infrastructure under the leadership of Eknath Shinde and later Devendra Fadnavis,” he said.
Taking aim at Uddhav Thackeray, Manisha Kayande said, “He had said the same thing during the Lok Sabha elections also. At that time too, a fake narrative was created in the first two-three months. Now he has started a new strategy of holding press conferences during the voting.”
Showing the ink on his finger, he said, “Look, I have ink on my finger. I tried to remove it with nail polish remover yesterday, but it didn’t come off.”
