Mumbai, January 16 (IANS). The duo of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde has done wonders in the BMC elections. Regarding the strength of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the elections, Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora said that the public has expressed confidence in its two brothers – Fadnavis and Shinde and we can say with confidence that we are accountable to the public.
Speaking to IANS in Mumbai, Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora said that first of all I want to heartily thank all the citizens of Mumbai for giving Mahayuti a historic victory. Thirty years later, our aim is to bring positive change and make the Mumbai Municipal Administration more accountable. People have made it clear that they do not want drama, they want good governance. They want accountability. They want Mumbai, India’s richest and largest municipal corporation, to become more accountable.
On the allegations of opposition leaders, Milind Deora said that if they lose in the elections then the opposition parties blame EVMs, whereas if they win the elections then the Election Commission and EVMs are fine for them.
On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray came together before the BMC elections. It was being claimed that the BMC elections had become more exciting with the coming together of the two brothers. Shiv Sena-BJP alliance will face a tough fight, but the trends in the results of BMC elections have made it clear that the people want a triple engine government in Maharashtra. Modi at the center, Devendra in the state and BJP-Shiv Sena alliance has become dominant in BMC also.
