New Delhi, January 25 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated President Draupadi Murmu’s address on the eve of Republic Day.
Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi described the President’s speech as inspiring. He said that it inspires every citizen to strengthen the constitutional ideals and reiterate their commitment to build a developed India.
Prime Minister Modi said, “On the eve of Republic Day, the President delivered a very inspiring speech. He rightly emphasized the merits of our Constitution and praised the collective spirit that has taken our country forward. His speech inspires every citizen to reaffirm their commitment towards strengthening democracy, upholding constitutional ideals and building a developed India.”
Earlier, in her address to the nation, President Draupadi Murmu highlighted India’s democratic journey, the values of the Constitution and the progress of the country. He said that India is the fastest growing large economy in the world and the country is moving forward due to the talent of the youth. The President appreciated the contribution of farmers, women, armed forces and various sections of the society. Referring to the history of ‘Vande Mataram’, he emphasized on the feeling of national unity and pride.
The President particularly highlighted the outstanding contributions of women, ranging from their involvement in agriculture to sports and the military. He said that daughters made records by winning the Cricket World Cup and the role of women has increased in the development of the country. In the address, the possibility of making India the third economy of the world soon was also discussed.
In his address, the President envisioned a strong India connecting the past, present and future.
