New Delhi, May 20 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given by the Indian community in Rome, Italy. Also congratulated the Italian artists for their excellent presentation at the welcome ceremony.

PM wrote in the post, “Indian music is becoming very popular in Italy. Five Italian artists performed ‘Hansdhvani’ during a community reception in Rome. Congratulations to Valerio Bruni (santur), Leo Vertuni (sitar), Simone Mattiello (flute), Francesco Gheradi (tabla) and Niccolo Melocchi (flute).
Prime Minister Modi also participated in the dinner organized by Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. He also shared some pictures on social media and said he looked forward to taking the talks forward in which the two leaders would discuss further strengthening India-Italy relations.

Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni also warmly welcomed PM Modi upon his arrival in Italy. He welcomed Prime Minister Modi upon his arrival in Rome on Tuesday night.
In a personal message to the Indian Prime Minister, Meloni wrote on X, “Welcome to Rome, my friend!”, indicating good relations between the two leaders.
PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with Italian Prime Minister Meloni and will also meet President Sergio Mattarella.
Prime Minister Modi also shared details of his visit and said that he has reached Rome on an official visit with the aim of strengthening relations with Italy. The Prime Minister arrived in Italy on Tuesday night, where he was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on ‘X’, “A new chapter is being written in the strategic partnership between India and Italy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Rome on an official visit. The Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Italy warmly welcomed him at the airport.”
He further said, “India and Italy have long had multifaceted relations. This visit will give further impetus to these relations.”
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the visit is taking place at a time when relations between the two countries are continuously strengthening. Both countries are implementing the Joint Strategic Action Plan for 2025-2029. This roadmap includes areas like trade, investment, defence, clean energy, innovation, science and technology and people-to-people ties.
