New Delhi, November 3 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at the Bharat Mandapam on Monday. During this event, he launched a Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) fund of Rs 1 lakh crore.
The objective of this scheme is to strengthen scientific and technological capabilities in the country.
Addressing the people at the event, PM Modi said, “Today’s program focuses on science, but before that I want to talk about the historic victory of the Indian women’s cricket team. The entire nation is proud of their wonderful achievement. I congratulate the team and wish all the best to all the players who have made India proud.”
On India’s recent success in space, PM Modi said, “Yesterday, ISRO successfully launched the Indian Navy’s GSAT-7R (CMS-03) communication satellite. I congratulate ISRO and all the scientists involved in this mission. Today is another important milestone for science and technology. There was a need to discuss new innovations, and the ESTIC Conclave has been conceived with this in mind.”
PM Modi further said, “The pace of change in science is no longer linear but exponential. Our government has launched an RDI fund of Rs 1 lakh crore for new opportunities in research and development. Our aim is to promote innovation not only in government institutions but also in the private sector. To create a modern innovation ecosystem, we are emphasizing on ‘ease of doing research’. In this direction, “Our government has already made reforms in financial regulations and procurement policies to support scientific growth.”
The ESTIC 2025 Conclave will be held between 3-5 November. It will include representatives from academia, research institutes, industry and government as well as Nobel laureates, scientists, innovators and policy makers.
The event will focus on 11 key thematic areas, including Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communications, Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing, Emerging Agricultural Technologies, Energy, Environment and Climate, Health and Medical Technologies, Quantum Science and Technology and Space Technology.
