Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) founding member Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia on her birth anniversary.
Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “His efforts for social service will never be forgotten.” He played an important role in strengthening Jan Sangh and BJP.
The Prime Minister said, “Vijayraje Scindia ji had deep faith in our cultural roots and always worked to protect them as well as to popularize them.”
Scindia, known as the Rajmata of Gwalior, was born on 12 October 1919 in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
Scindia, who was a seven-time member of the Lok Sabha, breathed her last on January 25, 2001.
