Bhubaneswar, April 21 (IANS). President Draupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Tribal Museum, Planetarium and Science Center during her one-day visit to Odisha on Tuesday.
According to the Presidential Secretariat, the President will inaugurate the Planetarium and Science Center and the Nirmal Munda Environment Path at a public function in Rourkela. Apart from this, she will also inaugurate a Tribal Museum and Integrated Command and Control Center in Rourkela.
Extensive and tight security arrangements have been implemented at all the places included in the President’s program. Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will hold talks with President Murmu.
Earlier in February, President Murmu was on a six-day visit to her home state. He visited Jajpur and offered prayers at the historic 13th century Birja temple and took part in some rituals at Nabhi Gaya.
The President also visited Balasore district and attended the 12th convocation of Fakir Mohan University. Later he traveled to Puri and visited Sri Jagannath Temple. He offered prayers and participated in the aarti at this 12th century holy temple. The President also performed other special rituals in the holy coastal city.
During the visit, the President also visited Mayurbhanj district and participated in several programs organized in his home district. The President attended a special program at the Jagannath Temple in Rai Rangpur and later visited the Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary.
The next day he interacted directly with women and youth of tribal communities in Simlipal. Simlipal is one of the major biosphere reserves of Odisha, known for its rich biodiversity and tribal heritage.
On the same day he participated in the ‘Black Swan Summit, India’ organized in Bhubaneswar. The event was organized by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with ‘Global Finance and Technology Network’. After concluding her visit, President Murmu left for Chhattisgarh, where she inaugurated the ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ festival in Jagdalpur.
