On Thursday, a day before the cabinet expansion in Gujarat, all 16 ministers except Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel resigned. All the ministers submitted their resignations to CM Patel.

It is worth noting that for some time, various kinds of speculations were being made regarding cabinet expansion. Meanwhile, the state government had announced on Thursday morning itself that CM Patel will expand his cabinet on Friday.
A BJP source told PTI that the party has accepted the resignations of all 16 ministers. “All the ministers except Chief Minister Patel have resigned,” the source said.
Let us tell you that according to the official release, the cabinet expansion will take place on Friday at 11.30 am.
It may be noted that the present Council of Ministers has 17 members including CM Patel. Of these, eight are Cabinet level ministers while the others are Ministers of State (MoS).
Gujarat, which has a 182-member assembly, can have a maximum of 27 ministers (15 per cent of the total strength of the House).
Earlier this month, Union Minister C.R. In place of Patil, Minister of State Jagdish Vishwakarma became the new president of the state Bharatiya Janata Party unit. Bhupendra Patel became Chief Minister for the second time on 12 December 2022.
