Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Friday took aim at the NDA’s manifesto, demanding that the alliance should apologize to the public and issue a ‘sorry letter’ instead of its ‘Sankalp Patra’ as previous election promises have not been fulfilled and new promises have been made.
The RJD leader also raised questions on the health of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said that the CM probably does not even know what is written in the ‘Sankalp Patra’ of NDA issued six days before the start of Bihar Assembly elections.
“We want to say that based on what we have seen, the NDA should bring an ‘apology letter’ and apologize to the 14 crore people of Bihar that even after ruling for 20 years, Bihar is one of the poorest states,” Tejashwi Yadav told reporters here.
Criticizing the lack of factories and investments in the state, the RJD leader said, “There are no factories, no investments. The government has failed in all sectors, so they should have brought an apology letter. If you look at their twenty years of false joke, the promises they made. Whatever manifesto they have brought for twenty years, this should also be written in that manifesto. What happened to us?”
Criticizing the promise of building more hospitals in the state, Yadav alleged that while the infrastructure would be created, the hospitals would not even have doctors and nurses.
Tejashwi said, “He said that he will look after the hospitals. And medical colleges will be built in every district. There are no doctors, no nurses in the medical colleges. There are no medicines, no treatment. Nothing is happening. So look at it accordingly. Then send an apology to these people. These people should apologize to the 14 crore people of Bihar.”
Expressing confidence of the Grand Alliance’s victory in the elections, Yadav said that people have now realized the deceitful nature of the NDA and will ensure the victory of his alliance.
He said, “This is just a statement. The people of Bihar have recognized their behavior and character. This time the NDA will be given a befitting reply. The grand alliance will form the government. The people of the state want to end unemployment.”
NDA members in Bihar jointly released their manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ in Patna on Friday.
In the manifesto, the NDA has promised to provide more than one crore government jobs and employment opportunities, conduct skill census to provide skill-based employment and set up mega skill centers in every district, thereby turning Bihar into a ‘global skill centre’.
A few days ago, the Grand Alliance has also released its manifesto ‘Tejaswi’s Pledge’.
