Kolkata, May 12 (IANS). With the formation of the new BJP government led by Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal, decisions are being taken rapidly in the state. Just three days after the formation of the new government, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has taken a major decision to strengthen border security. Newly appointed minister of West Bengal government Nisith Pramanik praised this decision on Tuesday.
Nisith Pramanik, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, said, “Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has announced that within 45 days, all the unfenced areas will be acquired and handed over to the Central Government. The people of West Bengal and across the country are happy with this decision because it will further strengthen the security of the country.”
Nisith Pramanik also launched a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu Assembly Leader of Opposition Udayanidhi Stalin. He said, “Stalin should be uprooted. The way people in his state voted overwhelmingly against him, it is clear that his time is about to end. A person who speaks against Sanatan Dharma should not get any place in India. India is the land of Sanatanis. Sanatan Dharma teaches respect, but we also know what to do with someone who does not respect us.”
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Shobhandev Chattopadhyay raised questions on the decision of the new government. “Issues related to allotment of land for border fencing have been controversial in the past as well. Local people had strongly objected to this and were not ready to give the land,” he said.
The opposition leader also hit out at the government over the Voter List Revision (SIR) and claimed that around 35 lakh names were removed from the voter list, which has been legally challenged. Chattopadhyay also questioned the appointment of officials who had worked in the Election Commission to important administrative posts.
