Bareilly, February 9 (IANS). All India Muslim Jamiat President Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi openly expressed his views on the recent statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and the issues related to the Muslim community in the country.
Talking to IANS, he said that Mohan Bhagwat’s talk of having three children has further strengthened the position of the Muslim community. He said that whether one has children or not, it is one of the biggest blessings of Allah and no one has the right to question it. Those who keep making noise about Muslims having three-four children, should listen and read Mohan Bhagwat’s statement carefully.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi also expressed his opinion on the issue of Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He said that the provision made in the Constitution regarding UCC is completely reasonable and clear. According to the Constitution, in states where UCC is to be implemented, public opinion must first be sought and it cannot be implemented without consent.
Giving the example of Uttarakhand, he said that there Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami constituted Justice Ranjana Desai Committee to prepare the draft of Uniform Civil Code, but no opinion was taken from Scheduled Tribes, Tribal Society and minorities in that committee.
He alleged that UCC was implemented unilaterally in Uttarakhand, which is against the constitutional process. Laws cannot be made in India this way. If this type of dictatorship is adopted, it will not only be against the basic structure of the Constitution, but will also weaken democratic values.
Taking aim at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that he is openly making anti-Muslim statements and is continuously spewing venom against Muslims. He alleged that the Chief Minister wants to weaken the economic condition of Muslims. Under this mentality, he gives this statement that if a rickshaw puller asks for five rupees, he should be given only four rupees. Such statements promote hatred and division in the society.
Maulana Razvi also alleged that the controversial video related to the Chief Minister of Assam was a move to strangle democracy and make fun of democracy. This kind of politics cannot go on in any democratic country.
He also referred to the statement of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, in which he had said that India is incomplete without Muslims. Razvi said that the Chief Minister of Assam is continuously giving inflammatory and provocative statements against Muslims while denying such statements. He demanded the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance and take action in this entire matter.
