Agartala, February 13 (IANS). Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday said the state has entered a new phase of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Central and State Governments are working together so that welfare benefits reach the last person of the society.
After laying the virtual foundation stone of three development projects at Udaipur in Gomti district, the Chief Minister said that these projects will open new doors for infrastructure development and will also contribute to environmental protection, urbanization and overall economic progress.
Saha said development projects worth about Rs 1,300 crore were underway across Tripura.
Expressing optimism about the future of the country, he said that India is making steady progress towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 and urged citizens to actively participate in achieving this national goal.
The Chief Minister said that the present government is implementing development programs with speed and sensitivity and stands with the people in both happy and sad times.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s vision, Saha said that special attention is being given to the all-round development of the poor, farmers, women and youth.
He further said that as a committed guardian of the nation, Prime Minister Modi has ensured national security by countering all types of conspiracies.
The Chief Minister said that paperless administrative system has been implemented from Civil Secretariat to Panchayat level. He said that after Goa and Mizoram, Tripura has achieved the status of a fully literate state and has won 347 awards at the national and regional level.
Saha announced that Vande Bharat Express would soon be launched in Tripura to further strengthen the transport network. He also said that work on converting the road from Agartala to Udaipur in southern Tripura into a four-lane highway will begin soon.
He said that the aim of the government is not only the development of Agartala but to ensure balanced and inclusive development of the entire state.
