Washington, April 26 (IANS). US President Donald Trump has reiterated his demand to build a high-security ballroom inside the White House complex. Recalling 150 years of history, he said that the firing incident emphasizes the need for such a center to be located in the White House.
He said on
According to Trump, this incident would never have happened with the (currently stalled) military top secret ballroom under construction at the White House. It can be made as quickly as possible! Apart from being beautiful, it has high-level security features, plus, there is no room upstairs where no stranger can enter, and it is inside the gates of the most secure building in the world, the White House.
A woman is also mentioned in this truth post of the President. He paused his words sarcastically and said, “A woman who was walking the dog filed a ballroom case unnecessarily. Keeping in mind the situation, the complaint should be withdrawn immediately. There should not be any hindrance in its construction.”
Actually, the woman Trump is referring to is Carol Quillin, who is the president and CEO of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The same trust fought a case against the ballroom being built by demolishing the White House East Wing (built in 1902). In April 2026, the court appealed to stop all construction work on the basis of the complaint.
There is a legal battle over Trump demolishing the East Wing to build a new, massive 90,000-square-foot ballroom and underground bunker. Following a lawsuit filed by the Trust, the court put a temporary stay on the project due to demolition of historic structures and starting construction without Congressional approval.
The allegation is that the Trump administration tried to build a new ballroom by demolishing the historic East Wing without proper procedure (Congress approval). In March 2026, federal judge Richard Lyons halted construction, deeming it illegal. The Trump administration appealed on this. A heavily fortified bunker is also being built beneath the ballroom.
