Greater Noida, May 27 (IANS). Outrage continues over the murder of 14-year-old Gopal Sharma in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Gopal’s body was found a day after he went missing from Banwari Bas village under Jewar police station area. The family and villagers are demanding quick action and justice.
Gopal, a Class 9 student, had gone missing on May 21.
According to the family, he had gone out of the house, and was not found later. His body was recovered from a room in nearby Rohi village on May 22, sparking outrage among residents of Banwari Bas and surrounding areas.
On Wednesday, a large number of villagers and local residents gathered at the house of the deceased and expressed grief and anger over the incident.
The murder has created concern and outrage across the region, with people questioning the delay in identifying and arresting the culprits.
Family members said that Gopal had allegedly gone towards Rohi village and suddenly went missing, after which they started searching for him.
His body was found the next day, leaving the family in shock.
Gopal’s mother demanded justice and alleged that the police has not yet given any clear information.
He said that I had gone to Jewar. Her father had gone to Noida to bring back her grandfather as he was admitted to a hospital there. Gopal had only gone to a nearby shop; There was no trace of him since then. The police are neither telling us anything nor taking any concrete action. We appeal to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to provide us justice and bulldoze the house of the accused.
The boy’s father Bunty Sharma said that the family had no known dispute or enmity with anyone and they were unable to understand the reason behind Gopal’s murder.
He further said that we had no personal enmity or dispute with anyone. I myself am not able to understand why someone would kill my son so brutally.
The villagers also expressed displeasure over the slow pace of investigation and demanded strict punishment for the culprits.
A local resident said that if such people are allowed to go free, it sends a wrong message to the public. If people do not unite will anyone get justice? If the victim’s family is left alone, will they not get justice?
Meanwhile, tension prevails in Banwari Bas village as residents gathered at the house of the victim’s family demanding immediate action in the case.
