Tata Motors is expected to launch Harrier and Safari with petrol engines in the coming weeks
Tata Motors has recently made a lot of headlines by launching Sierra in the Indian market. It has been introduced in the mid-size SUV segment and its deliveries are scheduled to start from next month and has received more than 70,000 bookings. Meanwhile, Tata is preparing to launch many new SUVs in the coming few months. In the next three months, 4 new SUVs will be launched in the market by the company.
1&2. Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol
The company will first launch Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol. The petrol variants of both these flagship SUVs have been awaited for a long time and are likely to be launched in the coming weeks. These will get the new 1.5-litre Hyperion tGDi petrol engine, which has been introduced for the first time in Sierra and is expected to have more power and torque.
The option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox will be available with this engine. Apart from petrol engine, some new features can be added to Harrier and Safari. It is believed that with the introduction of petrol version, their price may be reduced by about Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh compared to the diesel variant.
3. Tata Punch Facelift
On the other hand, Tata Punch is also going to get a mid-life facelift. This updated micro-SUV may be launched early next year and has been spotted testing several times. The biggest change in the Punch facelift will be in its exterior design, which will be quite similar to the Punch EV. Inside the cabin, it is expected to get a new steering wheel, changes in the dashboard, larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and fully digital instrument cluster. Mechanically, it will continue with the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine and CNG options.
4. Tata Sierra EV
Additionally, Tata Motors has confirmed the launch of the Sierra EV in the first quarter of 2026. Based on the ARGOS platform, this electric SUV will come in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. In terms of design, it will be similar to ICE Sierra, although it will have a slightly different look with a closed grill in the front. Complete information related to the powertrain has not been revealed yet, but according to reports, it can get 55 kWh battery pack from Curve EV and 65 kWh battery pack from Harrier EV. Its driving range on a single charge can be up to 500 kilometers and its estimated price is expected to be between Rs 16 to 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
