The process of forming a new government in West Bengal is starting from today (Friday). There will be a meeting of BJP MLAs in Kolkata today at 2:00 pm. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present in this meeting as an observer. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has been appointed co-observer. Both the leaders will know the opinion of BJP MLAs in West Bengal. The leader of the legislature party will be elected during this meeting. After the election of the legislature party leader, BJP leaders will go to Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form the government.
After this, the swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow – May 9. BJP has made preparations to make the swearing-in ceremony grand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and many other leaders will be present in this ceremony. Apart from this, Chief Ministers of 20 states are also expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Meanwhile, the suspense regarding government formation in Tamil Nadu may also end today. Leaders of Joseph Vijay Chandrashekhar’s party, TVK, have held meetings with CPI and CPM. After these meetings, it is expected that CPI and CPM will meet today and may announce their support to Vijay. Vijay currently has the support of 112 MLAs – including members of his own party and the Congress. He needs the support of six more MLAs. Left parties currently have four seats.
VCK can also support Vijay. However, VCK leader S.S. Balaji has said that his party has not yet taken any decision on supporting TVK. His party will consider supporting only when TVK assures that it will not succumb to pressure from BJP or RSS. S.S. Balaji further said that the Governor should invite TVK chief Vijay to form the government.
