Bihar Assembly Election 2025: The politics of Bihar has heated up after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav conducted election campaign and road show for jailed strongman candidate Ritlal Yadav in Danapur assembly seat of Bihar. The opposition is raising questions about Lalu Yadav’s alleged double mentality towards criminals. At a time when the party is expressing happiness over the arrest of another powerful leader Anant Singh. Pataliputra MP and Lalu Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti joined him in the road show.
Lalu Yadav asked for votes and did a road show
Opponents said that on one hand RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav gives a tough statement on crime, supports action against Mokama’s strong leader and JDU leader Anant Singh, while on the other hand he is not only supporting jailed Ritlal Yadav but is also asking for votes for him. JDU has termed RJD’s attitude as a fashionable statement on crime. JDU raised the question that if Anant Singh is a criminal, then is RJD candidate from Danapur Ritlal Yadav a saint? Both are contesting the elections from inside the jail.
Criminal record of Ritlal Yadav
RJD has refuted the allegation and defended that MLA Ritlal Yadav has been implicated in wrong cases. However, this defense is similar to the statement made by Anant Singh’s supporters, in which they declare him innocent and talk about implicating him in a conspiracy. However, the case of both is subject to the court and law, but politics in Bihar is at its peak regarding two powerful leaders of different parties. Danapur’s RJD MLA and candidate Ritlal Yadav is in jail on extortion charges.
Not found guilty in any case
A total of 42 criminal cases are registered against him. Of those, 10 cases have been taken into cognizance by the court. He has not been convicted in any case. Only last month, he had got bail from the MP-MLA court in the 2003 BJP leader Satyanarayan Sinha murder case, however, the Patna High Court has sent the case to the special court for retrial. Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav had announced to give ticket to Ritlal Yadav again from Danapur while he was in jail. He came into police custody and enrolled.
