PK convoy search by Bihar Police: The campaign for Bihar Assembly elections is now at its peak and leaders of political parties are holding massive rallies in the grounds. Amidst this election chaos, an unexpected incident took place in Purnia on Monday with the convoy of Jan Suraj leader Prashant Kishore (PK), which created a stir in the political circles. Suddenly, Bihar Police stopped Prashant Kishore’s convoy and his vehicles were thoroughly searched. Due to this action the convoy stopped for some time, after which it moved ahead. Such sudden stopping and searching of the convoy of a major political party during elections is an unusual incident, which has raised many questions on the sudden action of the police administration.
‘Jan Suraj’ contesting on 243 seats
According to the information, during the ongoing campaign before the elections to be held in two phases on 6 and 11 November, Bihar Police searched the convoy of Jan Suraj Party Chief Prashant Kishore. This incident has happened at a time when Prashant Kishore is continuously claiming that his party has become a big challenge for both the NDA and the Grand Alliance this time. Let us tell you that Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraj is contesting elections on all 243 seats of Bihar. Under the strict rules of the Election Commission, this action of the police may be a part of ensuring security arrangements and election transparency, but stopping the convoy of a prominent political strategist has become a topic of discussion.
Accusation of ‘threat’ against BJP and political tussle
Prashant Kishore and his party Jan Suraj had recently made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). PK had alleged that BJP had threatened three of his party’s candidates to withdraw their nominations. After this, photographs of Jan Suraj’s candidates were released with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bihar BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, creating a huge uproar in Bihar politics. However, Prashant Kishore himself is not contesting the elections this time. Earlier it was reported that he may contest against Tejashwi Yadav from Raghopur. But later PK clarified that “If I contest the elections, the party’s focus will be on that seat. In such a situation, the party is of the opinion that I should not contest the elections.”
PK’s big claim: NDA is not in competition with Grand Alliance
Prashant Kishor is continuously claiming that this time in Bihar, NDA’s competition is not with the Grand Alliance, but with Jan Suraj. He says that the people of Bihar are now bored with the old alliances and are looking for a new option. The search action taken by stopping his convoy in Purnia is being seen in the context of the growing challenge of Jan Suraj. This sudden action of the police may be an indication that the Election Commission and the administration are now taking the activities of Jan Suraj seriously, due to which special attention is being paid to PK’s rallies and movements.
