Raipur, June 12 (IANS). The state has received investment proposals worth Rs 9,580 crore from various sectors at the ‘Chhattisgarh Investor Connect’ program held on Friday in Hyderabad. Through these proposals, it is expected that more than 7,800 direct and indirect jobs will be created in the state. The objective of the program was to promote industrial investment in Chhattisgarh and attract new investors.
In the program, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai provided ‘Invitation to Invest’ (offer letters) to seven major companies to invest in Chhattisgarh. The companies making investment proposals are associated with important sectors like data centres, cement, semiconductor and GPU infrastructure, solar energy equipment manufacturing, textile industry, pharmaceutical and dairy processing. The state government believes that these investments will give new impetus to industrial development and increase employment opportunities for the youth.
While addressing the leading industrialists and investors of the country on this occasion, Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is fast emerging as the growth engine of developed India. He said that the state government is committed to providing better industrial environment to the investors and a ‘red carpet’ has been laid here for the investors. He called upon the industry to become a partner in the development journey by investing in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan and many big industrialists, investors and business representatives of South India were present in the program. While discussing with the journalists after the program, Minister Dewangan said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the state is continuously moving towards development. He said that various industrial areas of the state will benefit from the Investor Connect program organized in Hyderabad. Besides, continuous work is also being done on the new industrial policy. Investment proposals had been received earlier also, but proposals of such a huge amount have been received for the first time.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, reacting to the nomination controversy of Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan, said that the nomination form was not filled as per the prescribed format and necessary information, especially details related to criminal cases, were not provided. If necessary information is not given then it is natural for the nomination to be rejected. Transparency and adherence to rules are essential in a democracy and the law will work only according to its prescribed provisions.
