Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami had a cordial conversation with the people of Uttarakhand origin settled in the state and the country and abroad in the grand conference of migrant Uttarakhand residents organized in Mumbai. On this occasion, while serving as Chief Sevak, he shared the development journey of the last five years, the resolve of public service and the vision of developed Uttarakhand and described the migrant community as an important partner in the development of the state.
The Chief Minister said that he is feeling special intimacy and pride in being present among the migrant Uttarakhand people who are keeping alive the folk culture, traditions and values of Uttarakhand in the financial capital Mumbai. He said that no matter the geographical distance, the emotional ties between Uttarakhand and its migrant families have always been unbreakable. He said that the migrant people of Uttarakhand are enhancing the prestige of the state in the country and the world through their hard work, values, achievements and excellent works and they are actually the cultural ambassadors and biggest brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that the affection, dedication and connection of the migrant community towards Uttarakhand is the biggest strength of the state. He said that this emotional connection with the motherland is also working to keep the new generation connected with the culture, folk traditions and life values of Uttarakhand. On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to all the migrant organizations and the people of Uttarakhand present.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has constituted the Pravasi Uttarakhand Council with the aim of linking the talent, experience and expertise of the migrant Uttarakhand residents with the development of Uttarakhand. Through this, Uttarakhand residents living in the country and abroad are taking active participation in the state’s development plans, investment, innovation, education, health, tourism and other sectors. He said that the government considers the suggestions and experiences of the migrant community as an important basis of the development process.
The Chief Minister said that even during natural disasters and challenging circumstances, the migrant people of Uttarakhand have always come forward and contributed significantly in relief and rehabilitation works. He said that on the call of the state government, till now 27 migrants living in the country and abroad have adopted 29 villages of Uttarakhand, where positive work is being done in the fields of education, health, employment and rural development. He particularly praised the decision of Mumbai-based eminent actress Himani Shivpuri to adopt her native village, calling it an inspiring example of dedication towards the motherland.
The Chief Minister said that with the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the blessings of the Gods and Goddesses of Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand is today moving rapidly towards becoming a developed state. He said that the state government is working in a planned manner in all sectors including education, health, agriculture, horticulture, tourism, connectivity, self-employment and women empowerment. He said that the local economy has got a new impetus through many initiatives including One District-Two Products, House of Himalayas, State Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission, Home-Stay Scheme, Wed in Uttarakhand, Lakhpati Didi, Solar Self-Employment Scheme.
The Chief Minister said that the state has got first position in the SDG index of NITI Aayog. Along with this, it has been ranked in ‘Achievers’ category in Ease of Doing Business and ‘Leaders’ category in Startup Ranking. He said that there has been a significant reduction in the unemployment rate in the state and events like G-20 meetings, national games, winter travel and Global Investors Summit have given new strength to the global identity of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that through the Global Investors Summit, the state received investment proposals worth more than Rs 3.76 lakh crore, out of which investment of more than Rs 1 lakh crore has already materialised. He said that the economy of the state has seen continuous growth, there has been a significant increase in per capita income, the state budget has reached more than Rs 1 lakh crore and the number of industries and startups has also expanded continuously.
The Chief Minister said that as a positive result of tourism based policies, there has been a significant increase in the number of hotels and home-stays in the state and reverse migration has also gained new momentum. He said that people who were once forced to leave their villages for employment are now returning to their motherland with new opportunities.
The Chief Minister said that along with development, the state government is also working with full commitment for the preservation of the cultural heritage, social values and demographic balance of Uttarakhand. He said that good governance has been further strengthened in the state through strict anti-conversion law, anti-riot law, Uniform Civil Code, anti-copying law and zero tolerance policy against corruption. He said that there will be no compromise with the future of the youth and thousands of youth have been provided opportunities in government services through a transparent recruitment system.
The Chief Minister said that the aim of the state government is to create such an Uttarakhand where mountain water and youth contribute to the development of the state and no youth is forced to migrate. He said that continuous work is being done towards making Uttarakhand a leading and developed state of the country through self-reliant villages, modern facilities, better education, employment and strong infrastructure.
The Chief Minister called upon all the migrant people of Uttarakhand settled in the country and abroad to continue to play an active role in the development of Uttarakhand through their knowledge, experience, investment, innovation and social contribution. He expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of the government and the migrant society, the resolve to make Uttarakhand the best, prosperous and self-reliant state of the country will definitely come true.
On this occasion, the migrant people of Uttarakhand warmly welcomed Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami and expressed confidence in the development journey of the state government, public welfare decisions and efforts to give a new identity to Uttarakhand. He reiterated his resolve to provide active support in the development and public welfare works of the state in future also.
On this occasion, officials of Overseas Uttarakhand organizations, representatives of various social and cultural organizations, Overseas Uttarakhand residents associated with the industry and a large number of Overseas Uttarakhand residents living in Mumbai and surrounding areas were present.
