Pappu Yadav: There is once again a stir in the political corridors of Bihar. This time Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has become the center of discussion. The MP has received a notice from the Income Tax Department. But the real cause of controversy is the cash amount he distributed to help the flood victims. Pappu Yadav says that he received the notice only for helping the flood affected people, which according to him is a work done entirely on humanitarian grounds.
Pappu Yadav’s statement
On Saturday morning, Pappu Yadav shared information about this matter through a social media post. He wrote, “I have received an Income Tax notice, declaring that distributing money to help flood victims is a crime. If this is a crime, I will always commit the crime of helping every deprived victim.”
I have received an Income Tax notice, declaring it a crime to distribute money to help flood victims. If this is a crime then I will always commit the crime of helping every deprived victim!

The MP clarified that he had helped the flood victims in Maniyari village of Nayagaon East Panchayat in Vaishali district. Here people’s houses were washed away in the Ganges and life was going through difficult conditions. Pappu Yadav raised the question that if he had not helped, would he have remained a mute spectator like Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and local MP Chirag Paswan?
Code of conduct case and FIR
In fact, a case of code of conduct violation was registered against Pappu Yadav in Vaishali district for distributing cash in flood affected areas after the announcement of assembly elections. Two weeks ago the MP visited various flood affected areas and provided financial help to the affected families. After its video went viral, an FIR was registered in Sahadei police station. The MP was accused that this step in the midst of elections is a violation of the model code of conduct. Pappu Yadav in his statement called it an act of humanity and social responsibility and said that this action is not fair to those who needed genuine help.
