Uttarakhand State Foundation Day: In the main function of the Silver Jubilee festival of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day, on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 8260 crore for the state. At the function held at the FRI campus in Dehradun, the Prime Minister lauded the achievements of Uttarakhand in the last 25 years and called for moving forward with an ambitious roadmap for the next 25 years, which aims to make Uttarakhand an integral part of ‘Developed India’ by the year 2047.
The goal of making the spiritual capital of the world
While congratulating the people of the state in Garhwali and Kumaoni, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tribute to the martyrs and agitators of the Uttarakhand statehood movement. He said that November 9 is the result of the long penance of the people of Uttarakhand. Expressing his spiritual attachment to Uttarakhand, he said that this decade will belong to Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister said that the state has to decide the roadmap for the next 25 years, for this the basic mantra of ‘where there is a will, there is a way’ will have to be adopted.
Uttarakhand’s progress report in figures
The budget is beyond Rs 1 lakh crore.
Electricity production has increased four times.
The length of roads has doubled in the state of Uttarakhand.
Air service has increased to more than 4 thousand passengers a day.
Vaccine coverage has increased from 25 percent to every village.
Medical colleges increased from one to 10 at the time of state formation.
Uttarakhand will become spiritual capital
He has called for establishing Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of the world within a few years. For this, emphasis was laid on connecting holy temples, ashrams and yoga with the global network, developing yoga centers in every assembly constituency, and developing vibrant villages as small tourist centres. The Prime Minister said that the economy of Uttarakhand is closely related to connectivity. Currently, work on projects worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore is going on in the state, which include the Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Project and the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway.
Vocal for local and good governance
The Prime Minister has expressed pride in getting GI tag for 15 agricultural products of the state under the Vocal for Local campaign. Which includes Bedu fruit and Badri ghee etc. He said that the House of Himalayas brand is connecting the products of Uttarakhand to the global market through digital platforms. He has praised the bold policies like Uniform Civil Code (UCC), anti-copying law, anti-conversion law and riot control law brought by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Road map of Uttarakhand government told
Praising the efforts of Uttarakhand government for winter tourism, emphasis has been laid on strengthening the economy.
In adventure and eco tourism, it was mentioned that the number of tourists in Adi Kailash has increased from 2 thousand to 30 thousand and in Baba Kedar Dham has reached 17 lakh.
Under One District One Festival, he mentioned about bringing Uttarakhand on the world map by connecting festivals and fairs like Harela, Fuldei, Nanda Devi with tourists.
In film and wedding destinations, the aim is to develop destinations with facilities to take advantage of the state’s new film policy and Wed in campaign.
Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude
Welcoming Prime Minister Modi in his address, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is moving forward on the mantra of Developed Uttarakhand for Developed India. He said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Uttarakhand has presented its golden picture on the world stage by successfully organizing the Global Investors Summit, G-20 Conference and the 38th National Games. He has expressed gratitude for the sensitive support of the Prime Minister during disasters like Kedarnath tragedy, Silkyara Tunnel accident and Joshimath landslide.
