Rajasthan cough syrup case: Dextromethorphon hydrobromide cuff syrup in Rajasthan has now reached a new turn. The government has given a clean chit to the Cessons Pharma Company, which makes syrup in this entire case. The investigation report has revealed that the syrup created by the company did not have any adulteration or technical shortcomings. On the other hand, they have been suspended by taking strict action against the officials involved in saving fake drug making companies.
In fact, a few months ago, there were cases of sudden deterioration of children in many districts of Rajasthan. It was revealed in the information that these children were given dextromethorphon hydrobromide syrup to treat cough. Some children had to be hospitalized, while a girl had lost her life during treatment. After this incident, the state government had banned the supply of this syrup with immediate effect and all samples were sent for examination.
Big disclosure in investigation report
The government investigation has revealed that the syrup created by Kason’s Pharma did not have any adulteration or violation of standards. However, some fake companies were making fake medicines in the name of this brand and selling them in the market. The investigation also revealed that drug controller Rajaram Sharma and some other officials were trying to secure these fake companies. He had sent fake data to the Lok Sabha, NITI Aayog and the department, causing confusion between real and fake medicines. The concerned officials have been suspended after this disturbance surfaced.
Health Minister’s statement came out
Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khivansar said, “The medicines given to the patients by the government hospitals on our side have not found any flaws. He further said, “If parents or parents take medicines from somewhere to the children without consulting the doctor, then the department cannot be held responsible in such a situation.”
Congress’s strong attack
On this whole matter, the Congress surrounded the state government and said that such incidents are coming to light due to collusion between the health department and the pharmaceutical companies. The opposition has a big allegation that the government deliberately approved supply to companies that did not meet the drug standards. Congress leaders expressed condolences to the family of the girl who lost their lives and said that the government should ensure a transparent investigation in this matter.
Let me tell you, it has been made clear from the government that Kensss Pharma Company is innocent, while action will continue on the people and officials involved in the fake drug business.
