KL Rahul: In the 62nd match of IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals (DC) performed brilliantly and defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 5 wickets. KL Rahul made an important contribution with the bat in DC’s victory at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium. He played a strong inning of 56 runs in 42 balls. During this innings, Rahul broke the big record of AB de Villiers.
KL Rahul has become the batsman to score most innings of more than 50 runs in IPL against Rajasthan Royals. Rahul played an inning of more than 50 runs for the 9th time against RR on Sunday. Earlier, this record was in the name of De Villiers, who has played innings of more than 50 runs 8 times against Rajasthan Royals. In this list, Shikhar Dhawan (7) and Virat Kohli (7) are jointly at third position.
Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul gave a great start to Delhi Capitals while chasing the target of 194 runs given by RR. Together they added 105 runs for the first wicket in 10.1 overs. Rahul appeared in good form and faced 42 balls and scored 56 runs with the help of one four and 3 sixes. Whereas, Abhishek contributed 51 runs in 31 balls. Akshar Patel, batting in a explosive style, played an unbeaten inning of 34 runs in 18 balls, while Ashutosh Sharma scored unbeaten 18 runs in just 5 balls, giving DC a 5 wicket win in 19.2 overs.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals scored 193 runs on the scoreboard after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. RR did not have a good start and Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after scoring just 12 runs. However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi appeared in good form and scored 46 runs in 21 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Whereas, Dhruv Jurel played a brilliant inning of 53 runs in 40 balls. Captain Riyan Parag scored 51 runs facing just 26 balls. During his innings, Ryan hit 3 fours and 5 sixes. In bowling, Mitchell Starc took 4 wickets for 40 runs for Delhi Capitals, while Lungi Ngidi took 2 wickets for 24 runs.
