Ahmedabad, November 14 (IANS). Adani Cement has become the first cement company in India to adopt the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework. This information was given by the company on Friday.
With this, Adani Cement joins the seven global cement companies that have adopted the TNFD framework. Ambuja Cements and ACC are two brands under Adani Cement.
The TNFD framework is adopted by companies that focus on nature positive business transformation.
Adani Cement will formally adopt TNFD-aligned recommendations from FY26, thereby enhancing the company’s transparency and accountability in environmental performance.
Vinod Baheti, CEO of Adani Group’s Cement business, said, “The adoption of the TNFD Framework is an important step towards Adani Cement’s nature-positive growth and climate leadership. We are proud to commit to TNFD-aligned disclosures in our industry, reflecting our belief that responsible business is the foundation for long-term success.”
Earlier, Adani Cement had announced the installation of Coolbrook’s Rotodynamic Heater (ADH) technology on a commercial scale for the first time in the world to reduce carbon emissions.

By adopting the TNFD recommendations, Adani Cement is committed to identifying, assessing, managing and disclosing nature-related risks and opportunities, thereby strengthening its leadership in sustainable manufacturing.
The TNFD is a global, science-based initiative founded by the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP-FI), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Global Canopy.
It provides guidance to companies in integrating nature-related considerations into strategic decision making and corporate reporting.
Additionally, Adani Cement has already institutionalized strong ESG standards, including large-scale afforestation whereby it has planted over 70 lakh trees.
Earlier on Wednesday, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) became India’s first integrated transport utility to adopt the TNFD framework, setting a new benchmark for nature positive infrastructure development.
