New Delhi, April 30 (IANS). Air India Express on Thursday announced that it has resumed its flight services to Qatar and Bahrain. Also, it has further expanded its network to Gulf countries like UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia. This change has come into effect from 30 April 2026.
Following the resumption of services, the airline has resumed connectivity to many major cities and regional airports in India such as Amritsar, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi.
The airline will now continue to operate flights to key destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Al Ain (UAE); Muscat in Oman; Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia; It will also operate flights to Bahrain and Doha in Qatar.
The company also said that flight services to Kuwait will also remain part of its Gulf network.
The Tata Group-backed airline currently operates more than 500 flights daily, connecting 45 domestic and 17 international destinations. Its fleet includes more than 100 Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Bhubaneswar had to be briefly diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather.
Flight IX-1057, which took off from Delhi, was landed at Jaipur airport as a precautionary measure due to bad weather en route.
An airline spokesperson said, “Due to bad weather en route to Bhubaneswar, one of our flights had to be briefly diverted to Jaipur. After the weather cleared, the flight resumed its journey. We regret the delay.”
The plane landed safely in Jaipur and there were no reports of any injuries or damage. The plane said that after a short stop and the weather improving, the flight again took off for Bhubaneswar.
