New Delhi, May 14 (IANS). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday said it has conducted searches at seven locations in a case related to Reliance Communications (RCom), one of the Reliance ADA Group companies.
The CBI said in a statement that the raids were conducted at premises located in Mumbai, Gurugram and Bengaluru.
The investigating agency said in the statement, “The searches were conducted at the homes of the then CEO, CFO and directors of the company, who had worked in the company during 2015 to 2017. This action was taken on the basis of search warrant issued by the special court for CBI cases, Mumbai on May 14, 2026.”
CBI said that many important and objectionable documents have been recovered during the search and the investigation of the case is still going on.
The CBI has registered seven cases against Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group in the last few months. These cases have been registered on the basis of complaints from various government banks and LIC.
In these cases, there are allegations of alleged fraud worth thousands of crores of rupees. According to CBI, the total alleged loss in these cases is Rs 27,337 crore.
The investigating agency said that after the registration of these cases, search operations have been conducted at 31 places in the last few months.
Earlier on April 20, two senior officials of Reliance Communications were arrested, including D. Vishwanath and Anil Kalya. According to the CBI, D. Vishwanath was in-charge of the banking operations of the group, while Anil Kalya was assisting him in the work related to banking operations and utilization of funds.
Both the accused are currently in judicial custody. CBI said that the investigation of cases related to Anil Ambani group is being monitored by the Supreme Court.
Last Saturday also CBI had raided 17 locations in Mumbai. The action was taken in connection with three cases registered against Reliance Telecom, Reliance Commercial Finance, Reliance Home Finance and their directors.
