Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 starts today. The event, which runs through June 12, may be the most important in Apple’s recent history—and it’s because of AI. Two years ago, Apple had announced several AI features that could finally be launched at this event. Big announcements are expected, including an AI-powered version of Siri, new AI features, and the iOS 27 update. Let us know when and where this event can be seen and what announcements can be made.
When and where to watch WWDC 2026?
WWDC 2026 is taking place at Apple Park in California. The live stream will start at 10:30 PM (IST) on Monday. It can be seen on Apple’s official YouTube channel and Apple TV. This will be the last event for Tim Cook as CEO.
What are the expectations from WWDC 2026?
New version of Siri
The biggest feature of this event will be the AI version of Siri. Apple, which is lagging behind in the race of AI, will try to show its strength through this event. Siri will change from a simple assistant to something like a chatbot. It will run on Google’s Gemini AI model. Siri will now be integrated into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS at the system level, allowing it to use device information. The new Siri will also be able to better understand personal context. According to reports, Apple may move it to ‘Dynamic Island’. It will also include features found in other chatbots, such as image generation and file analysis. Siri can also be offered as a standalone app.
iOS 27 update
WWDC 2026 will also introduce the new software update for iPhone, iOS 27. This update will bring upgrades to several apps, including the Camera and Photos apps. Talking about the camera app, a new ‘Siri Mode’ will be added along with the existing photo, video and portrait modes. Similarly, new AI tools will be available for photo editing in the Photos app. The update will also include a new interface designed for foldable iPhones. Apart from this update, iPadOS 27, tvOS 27, macOS 27 and watchOS 27 will also be launched at the event.
