New Delhi, January 3 (IANS). The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken an important initiative towards increasing citizen participation and making electoral services more simple and effective. The Commission has invited suggestions from all the citizens of the country to improve the new ECINet App.

Citizens can submit their suggestions through the ‘Submit a Suggestion’ tab available in the app till January 10.

According to the Election Commission, the trial version of the ECINet app is capable of providing better services to the voters. Through this, trends related to voting percentage are becoming available faster than before. Not only this, index cards are being published within 72 hours of the end of voting, whereas earlier the same process used to take several weeks or months to complete. This app has been successfully tested during Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 and various by-elections.

The Commission said that the ECInet platform is being continuously improved. This is incorporating feedback received from Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), District Electoral Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), observers and field officers. Now the suggestions received from citizens will also be reviewed so that the app can be made more user-friendly. The ECInet platform is proposed to be officially launched this month.

ECINet is one of the major initiatives of the Election Commission, developed under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. The development work of this app was started after its announcement on 4 May 2025.

The app has been designed as an integrated platform for citizens, combining around 40 previously existing election-related apps and websites into a single interface. These include important options like Voter Helpline App (VHA), CVigil, Saksham, Polling Trends (Voter Turnout App), and Know Your Candidate (KYC).

ECInet app can be downloaded from both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The Election Commission has appealed to the citizens to download the app and help in making the democratic process stronger by giving their suggestions.
