New Delhi, January 13 (IANS). Tesla CEO and founder of AI firm XAI Elon Musk on Tuesday strongly criticized Apple’s decision to adopt Google’s Gemini model for the next generation of Siri and the Apple Foundation model. Elon Musk has called this an unfair centralization of power in the hands of Google.
Elon Musk made the comments on social media platform X after Google confirmed that Google’s Gemini AI model and cloud technology will be used in Apple’s AI features as part of a multi-year partnership with Apple.
Elon Musk said that Google already has big platforms like Android mobile system and Chrome browser. In such a situation, giving Apple’s AI to Google is a wrong distribution of power and this makes only one company very strong.
This controversy has come at a time when Apple is trying to improve its AI technology. At the same time, Google is being investigated for monopoly in America and other countries, especially in the fields of search, advertising and browser.
Elon Musk’s company XAI has already sued Apple and OpenAI. This lawsuit is about adding ChatGPT to Siri. Musk alleges that Apple’s App Store practices are harmful to rivals like its AI service Grok. According to multiple reports, the case is moving forward in court.
The controversy comes after international criticism against Grok, which has been banned in several countries including Indonesia and Malaysia. It is alleged that this AI had created objectionable and obscene pictures without permission, which also included content related to minors.
India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology also took action against X Corp. The ministry said that the company failed to stop obscene and objectionable content on this platform.
Recently Google has announced many new features related to Gemini AI. These include services like AI Inbox, which will help in providing better and personalized information to users. These facilities are currently launched for some users in America.
Earlier this month, Elon Musk’s company XAI said that it had raised funding of $ 20 billion. This investment includes big institutions like Nvidia, Weller Equity Partners and Qatar Investment Authority.
According to the report, XAI is spending around $1 billion every month. Elon Musk had earlier told that his company is increasing the capacity of its data center in Memphis, USA by about 2 gigawatts, so that the capacity of AI can be further increased.
