New Delhi, November 15 (IANS). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the AI Center of Excellence for skill development at Nagaland Tool Room and Training Center (NTTC). He addressed the audience after inaugurating the AI Center of Excellence.
In his address, the Finance Minister said, “The youth of Nagaland are very creative and enthusiastic. Be it textile, wood work or any other craft, their talent is visible everywhere.”
He further said, “I am confident that with this opportunity you will make a big and significant change in your life, the future of Nagaland and the contribution of this state to a developed India.”
According to the information given by Nirmala Sitharaman’s office, MoUs were also exchanged between Scient Tech and NTTC in the presence of the Finance Minister.
Earlier, the Finance Minister also became a part of the review meeting of SASCI projects.
According to Nirmala Sitharaman office, “SASCI allocation to Nagaland has increased from 3 sectors in 2020-21 to 9 sectors in 2024-25. Additionally, due to SASCI support by the Center under the leadership of PM Modi, the state capital expenditure has tripled from ₹ 1,677 crore in 2020-21 to ₹ 4,593 crore in 2024-25.”
The Finance Minister reviewed the projects funded by the Central Government under the SASCI Scheme in Chumaukedima, Nagaland. On this occasion, the Finance Minister launched two more projects under SASCI in the state.
He also visited key facilities at NTTC Dimapur including Automobile Workshop, Training Block and Agro-Based Rural Technology Units.
The Finance Minister was in Kohima earlier during her three-day visit to Nagaland. Here he launched Students Advancing Mindsets in AI, Robotics, Technology and Digital Hardware (SAMARTH) at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).
She also witnessed the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding between Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Private Limited (TSAT) and NIELIT.
