New Delhi, January 21 (IANS). The government said on Wednesday that the ‘Sampanna’ pension portal has now been linked to DigiLocker. With this, pensioners will be able to get Pension Payment Order (e-PPO), Gratuity Gratuity Orders and other important documents online anytime and from anywhere.
This ‘Sampann’ pension portal has been developed by the Office of the Controller General of Communication Accounts. Under the ‘Digital India’ programme, all pensioners of the Department of Telecommunications have been informed about this successful integration.
‘Sampanna’ users can enter their PPO number in each service category and click on ‘Get Document’.
After this, the system will automatically prepare Pension Certificate, Gratuity Payment Order, Commutation Payment Order or Form-16 as per the demand of the users.
According to the Ministry of Communications, with this integration, pensioners will be able to get important documents like Communication Sanction Order and Form-16 directly in their DigiLocker account.
The government said that this facility can be used anytime and anywhere through smartphone or computer. This will keep documents safe, eliminate the need for paper and make important tasks like banking or medical reimbursement easier.
Principal Controller of Communications Accounts, Delhi, Ashish Joshi said that this initiative will eliminate the need for paper documents, thereby saving time and money for pensioners in Delhi-NCR and elsewhere.
He also said that the move makes pensioners digitally self-reliant and is in line with the government’s goal of paperless digital governance.
To use this service, pensioners can login with Aadhaar on digilocker.gov.in, link their PPO number and download the required documents instantly.
The ‘Sampann’ portal, dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 29, 2018, is a major shift in the direction of taking the administration from system-centric to pensioner-centric. Due to this, retired employees and their families do not have to visit offices.
Through this portal, the entire pension process – from application to processing, issuance of e-pension payment order, payment, accounting, audit and grievance redressal – has been digitalized.
