New Delhi, May 7 (IANS) US technology company IBM and Indian company Yotta Data Services on Thursday announced plans to develop an on-premise cloud-based agentic AI platform for companies and government organizations in India.
According to the official statement, this platform will be built with the help of IBM WatsonX Orchestrate and deployed on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud. It aims to promote the use of AI in organizations at a larger scale, while also addressing needs related to data residency, security and regulatory compliance.
The proposed platform will enable organizations to deploy and manage AI agents in areas such as IT service management, human resources, finance, procurement and customer support.
Sandeep Patel, Managing Director, IBM India and South Asia, said, “Indian companies are now looking to implement AI safely, controlled and in line with regulatory requirements. This partnership will help organizations scale AI responsibly by combining IBM’s AI capabilities and Yotta’s indigenous cloud infrastructure.”
The statement said that companies now want to move beyond the experimental phase of AI and use it in real operations. In such a situation, the demand for such platforms is increasing, which can control and systematically operate AI-based processes in business operations.
IBM Sovereign Core will also be hosted on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, enabling organizations to create and operate AI-ready native digital environments. This system will provide continuous compliance monitoring, verifiable controls and regulated AI operations over data, operations, technology and AI processes.
This collaboration aims to provide a strong foundation for Indian organizations to implement Agentic AI at scale, using AI technology without compromising compliance and controls.
IBM Sovereign Core, based in India and deployed on a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approved infrastructure, will provide an indigenous digital environment in line with the country’s regulatory requirements. This will help companies and government organizations comply with data residency regulations, maintain audit-ready compliance records, and operate AI workloads within set limits.

This will make various business functions faster and more effective through AI-based processes.
