New Delhi, March 3 (IANS). India has one of the highest daily use of AI in any country in the world. Samsung Southwest Asia President and CEO JB Park said on Tuesday that ‘we are now in the era of AI’, so the privacy in the new Galaxy S26 series has been further upgraded.

Samsung has recently launched its new flagship phone Galaxy S26 Ultra, in which the new ‘Privacy Display’ feature is being liked a lot in the technology world.

“India plays a strategic role in Samsung’s global innovation ecosystem. Engineers from our R&D centers in Bengaluru and Noida have contributed significantly to the development of the Galaxy S26 series,” Park said.

He told that the Galaxy S26 series is being manufactured in Samsung’s Noida factory in India.

Park said that this feature, introduced for the first time in the industry, is the beginning of a new era of smartphone privacy.

He further added, “Privacy in the Galaxy S26 series has been upgraded keeping in mind the era of AI. Unlike third-party filters, the ‘Privacy Display’ is integrated directly into the screen itself. This provides a better viewing experience during normal use and reduces the visibility of the screen from side angles. Users can apply privacy to a specific part of the screen or decide when this feature is activated.

On-device privacy has also been strengthened in the Galaxy S26 series. Sensitive data does not leave the device through personal context processing.

Although many AI agents have been provided in this series, users retain complete control over their data. They can also decide when and how their personal information is shared.

“When users interact with partner AI agents through Samsung apps (Samsung Note, Calendar, Gallery, Reminders and Clock), they can also control whether data is shared for model training or targeted advertising,” Park said.

Additionally, the ‘Privacy Alerts’ feature notifies users through intelligent monitoring when an app tries to access device admin controls or sensitive data, such as precise location, call logs or contacts. This allows users to manage security permissions better.

Park said, “We ensure that the AI acts according to your orders and wishes. We cannot allow it to go out of your control and make things that are wrong or untrue.”

The Galaxy S26 series is Samsung’s third-generation AI phone, powered by AI agents with better context understanding and proactive suggestions to make everyday tasks easier. Park said that there are many AI agents in this phone, but their access to personal information is limited only to the extent necessary.

“All Galaxy AI experiences operate under Samsung’s Knox security framework, which enforces uniform technical and policy safeguards across devices. Personal data remains secure on the device, is shared only when needed, and is not used for advertising,” he said.

The Galaxy S26 series is available for pre-order across leading online and offline retail stores in India. The Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at Rs 1,39,999, the Galaxy S26 Plus starts at Rs 1,19,999, while the base variant S26 starts at Rs 87,999.
