New Delhi, May 25 (IANS). India’s creator economy is growing rapidly and creator-related job postings have seen a 919 percent increase from 2020 to early 2026. This information was given in a report released on Monday.
Job search website Indeed said creator roles, which represented about 1 in every 1,000 marketing jobs in 2020, now represent about 1 in every 100.
The report noted that the role of creators is growing rapidly as companies move away from one-off influencer collaborations and adopt more regular and permanent recruitment models.
The report notes that roles such as content creators, influencers and social media professionals are increasingly being incorporated into formal organizational structures.
The report said new influencer talent continues to enter the ecosystem, but demand from organizations for creator roles far exceeds supply, creating a significant talent gap.
The report notes that organizations are developing integrated, end-to-end content capabilities rather than relying solely on individual creators.
Between March 2025 and February 2026, nearly 40 percent of creator posts were classified as influencer posts; 20 percent were classified as marketing executives and 17 percent as marketing interns.
Nearly 60 percent of creator-related hires are now coming out of traditional influencer positions, including positions like video production, community management, and content operations, which cover the execution and engagement levels of content.
The report said that for thousands of young Indians, who have spent years honing their video editing and storytelling skills, the formalization of creator positions is bringing a new level of structure within the ecosystem.
“As creators enter formal organizations, expectations are shifting toward measurable outcomes, be it audience engagement, conversion or brand consistency,” said Rohan Sylvester, talent strategy advisor, Indeed India.
