New Delhi, May 26 (IANS). 12 Fab and Packaging Projects and 24 Semiconductors Projects have been approved under Semicon India Program and now India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) has launched the Investor Portal. Its objective is to increase investor confidence and address concerns. This information was given in a statement issued by the government on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT said that ISM’s Investor Portal will provide information on government schemes, policies, regulatory requirements and projects approved under Semicon India for investors considering semiconductor investment in India.

The ministry said that concerned parties will get a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface for streamlined coordination and timely resolution of concerns.

Through this, the government is trying to increase the ease of doing business.

This portal will enable investors to register their complaints or concerns, which will be resolved by India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) officials in collaboration with nodal officers from concerned ministries, departments, organizations, state governments, approved project companies and international and national trade bodies/associations.

ISM CEO Amitesh Kumar Sinha said that it is very important to provide guidance and facilities to foreign investors.

He urged the representatives of all concerned stakeholders to actively play their respective roles in addressing the concerns of investors to strengthen the semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem in the country.

The concerned parties will get a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface for streamlined coordination and resolution of concerns in a timely manner.

The launch program also detailed the portal’s framework, functionalities, onboarding process, coordination mechanism and roles and responsibilities of nodal officers of participating ministries, departments, organizations, state governments, approved project companies, international and national trade bodies or associations.

The Government is making concerted efforts to develop a strong, reliable and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in the country through various strategic initiatives and policy interventions.

Father seeks information from police about traffic challans of future son-in-law before daughter's marriage Rayadupalem: A father in Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada district sought information from police about traffic challans against vehicles of his future son-in-law before his daughter's marriage to ascertain his sense of responsibility and driving skills. An official gave this information on Thursday. The police officer described this act as rare and deliberate, saying that the man found it more accurate to assess the character of his future son-in-law based on his behavior on the road, rather than gathering information in the traditional manner. "The man wanted to know whether his future son-in-law was involved in rash driving, drunken driving or repeatedly violating traffic rules. We appreciated his sense of responsibility," the officer said. According to the police, the man had lost his wife several years ago and raised his daughter single-handedly. He said that this father, after facing many difficulties, educated his daughter and made her an engineer. Having recently found a suitable match for his daughter, the father on Tuesday approached the Rayadupalem traffic police with the registration numbers of a car and a two-wheeler belonging to the future son-in-law. Police said that the man believed that a person's behavior while driving often reflects discipline, patience and a sense of social responsibility, so he inquired about the old challans before giving permission for the marriage. After investigation, police did not find any pending challans or serious traffic violations related to the vehicles. The officer said he was pleasantly surprised by the unusual request and appreciated the man's responsible and practical approach in finding a husband for his daughter.
