Mappls, an app that competes with Google Maps, has been launched. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has shared a video of this navigation app on social media, in which many of its features have been shown. This navigation app has been developed by indigenous company MapmyIndia. Mappls has all the features of Google Maps. Additionally, users can also post about road conditions, petrol pumps, dhabas and junction points on their route.
What is Swadeshi Mappls?
The Union Minister shared a video of this app on his X handle and encouraged people to try it. Mappls can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The navigation platform can also be accessed through the website. Ashwini Vaishnav has shared a 69 second video, in which its features are explained. The video shows that wherever there is an underpass or overbridge on this map, a 3D junction view has been created to ease user navigation. Users often face difficulty in choosing the right lane on overbridges and underpasses. Mappls has solved this problem.
Additionally, if there is a multi-storey building or shopping complex, Maples also provides information about which shop is on which floor. The Union Minister said in the video that people must try this indigenous map. The Union Minister said that Maples will be pre-installed in Indian car manufacturing companies, so that users can use it for navigation.
Will be used in railways also
The Union Railway Minister also said that this map will also be used in Railways. For this, soon an MoU will be signed between Indian Railways and MapmyIndia, after which its GIS technology can also be used in Railways. Talking about the features of Maples, apart from navigation, it will also provide the facility of location pinning and posting. Along with this, there will also be an option to correct any problem or missing information in the map. Apart from this, options like Hybrid Map, Night Mode, Gray Mode, Sublime Grey, Dark Classic View are also provided in Maple.
