New Delhi, November 19 (IANS). Indranil Dutt, Managing Director and CEO of water management company Ion Exchange (India) Limited, outlined the company’s new growth strategy driven by digital transformation, innovation and expansion.

Dutt started his career at the company as Managing Director and recently completed two years in the role. He has been a strong supporter of digital transformation and partnerships. Before him, Rajesh Sharma was playing the role of Managing Director and CEO in the company, who is currently guiding the company as Executive Chairman.

Dutt builds on Ion Exchange’s six-decade-old legacy with his leadership defined by vision, operational excellence, innovation, sustainability and an unwavering commitment to people.

“The solutions of the future will come from technology, innovation and partnerships between government, industry and communities. Ion Exchange is strong and well-positioned to lead this change,” said Dutt.

He brings a global perspective through his experience in the energy and resources industries and is making a significant contribution to growing Ion Exchange’s international footprint.

The company is providing advanced products and solutions across various geographies, leading to rapid growth in exports and strengthening the country’s position as a hub of sustainable water and environment technology.

“Our goal is to make Ion Exchange a global benchmark for total water and environment management,” Dutt said.

The company is also building a new resin manufacturing plant in Roha, Maharashtra to meet the growing global demand, which will ensure the manufacturing of solvent-free products and minimal use of hazardous chemicals.

According to him, Ion Exchange’s INDION resins, Hydramem membranes and water treatment chemicals are the foundation of the company’s technological edge.

Together, they strengthen Ion Exchange’s position as a leader in water, waste water, solid waste and waste to energy solutions. This is a portfolio that few companies across the world can match.

“We are taking indigenous, premium, high-performance ‘Made in India’ products to the world,” Dutt said.

He added, “Growth must always be coupled with responsibility. Sustainability remains a guiding principle in every solution developed by Ion Exchange, which optimizes water, energy and waste efficiency.”

Under Dutt’s leadership, Ion Exchange has accelerated its digital transformation journey.

He stressed, “Digital not only increases efficiency; it also adds value to our partners by ensuring reliability, performance optimization and cost savings throughout the life cycle. We want to be a visionary partner for companies around the world in water management.”

Dutt has also championed HR transformation to create a more transparent and connected workplace with an equal focus on people and organizational development.

By empowering young professionals and nurturing diverse talent, they are developing the next generation of leaders for the global water sector.

“Our people are our greatest strength. Their passion and commitment drives Ion Exchange forward,” he said.

Apart from business, Ion Exchange promotes social impact through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, Ion Foundation. Initiatives like AquaNari have enabled women to re-enter or pursue careers in the water sector, demonstrating the company’s commitment towards inclusivity and holistic progress.

With turnover of Rs 2,540 crore and net profit after sales growth of 5.09 per cent in FY 2024-25, Ion Exchange demonstrates strong growth and industry leadership.
