New Delhi, 6 October (IANS). On 2 October 2025, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched Jan Yojana Campaign (PPC) 2025-26- ‘Sabka Yojana, Sabka Vikas’ campaign in all states and union territories, which led to the nationwide process to prepare the Panchayat Development Scheme (PDP) for FY 2026-27.
Jan Yojana Abhiyan (PPC) has emerged as an important initiative to strengthen democracy at the ground level, ensure inclusive development.
According to the Center, the Jan Yojana campaign was launched in 2018, after which this campaign has been helping the panchayats to prepare evidence-based and inclusive development plans.
According to the data on the e-Gramswaraj portal, more than 18.13 lakh panchayat development schemes have been uploaded from FY 2019-20 to FY 2025-26 from 29 July 2025. These include more than 17.73 lakh Gram Panchayat Development Schemes (GPDP), 35,755 Block Panchayat Development Schemes (BPDP) and 3,469 Zilla Panchayat Development Schemes (DPDP).
Jan Yojana Campaign (PPC) was started on 2 October 2018 under ‘Sabka Yojana Sabka Vikas’ theme. This campaign was brought to increase people’s participation in preparing panchayat development schemes.
The objective of the Jan Yojana Abhiyan is to prepare people with a timely and coordinated development schemes Gram Panchayat Development Scheme (GPDP), Block Panchayat Development Scheme (BPDP) and District Panchayat Development Scheme (DPDP), Gram Panchayat, Intermediate (Block) Panchayat and District Panchayat level across the country.
Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) are responsible for providing services like water supply, sanitation, road, drainage, street lighting, health, education and nutrition at the village level.
To bring the agenda of the Sustainable Development Target (SDG) to the ground level, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has adopted a thematic approach, which makes the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in nine comprehensive subjects.
This approach helps panchayats to prepare a development plan under the framework of ‘Sampoorna Sarkar and Sampoorna Samaj’.
Self -help groups (SHGs) are also engaged in preparing VPRPs, which further promote overall development and strength at the village level.
