Aizawl, February 3 (IANS). Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday said the state government has given priority to simplifying public service delivery, making it faster, more efficient and easily available to citizens.

Reiterating his vision of placing Mizoram at the forefront of digital governance in India, the Chief Minister stressed the government’s commitment to use technology to improve transparency and citizen-centric services.

Inaugurating the computerization of Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) in Aizawl, Lalduhoma said that several digital initiatives have been taken in the last two years, and progress is being made continuously.

Highlighting the strengths of Mizoram, he said that as a small state with a relatively small population, Mizoram has high literacy levels and widespread proficiency in the English language, which provides a strong foundation to become one of the best performing states in digital service delivery.

The Chief Minister said that more than 20 online service portals have been launched in the last two years.

He said while the Mizoram CSR Connect portal was inaugurated recently, the computerization of the cooperative department began on Tuesday.

Lalduhoma emphasized that this initiative will greatly benefit cooperatives across the state by improving accessibility and efficiency, while also simplifying work processes for departmental staff. He also appreciated the Minister and the officials of the department for completing the project in a short time.

Addressing the event, Cooperation Minister P.C. Vanlalruata said Mizoram is one of the first states in India to successfully implement this initiative and is the first state to completely computerize all the offices of the Co-operation Department in the state. He expressed pride in this achievement and thanked the Chief Minister for personally inaugurating the project.

Commissioner and Secretary, Cooperation Department, Adit Prakash Rai, while providing a detailed overview of the RCS computerization project, said that it was launched in Mizoram on March 29 last year.
